Alta Giles Moser Memorial Service Covenant Presbyterian Church Columbus, Ohio September 16, 2023 Alta Giles Moser, age 88, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023. She was born on December 2, 1934, in Fayetteville, Arkansas to the late Roy and Ruth (West) Giles. Described by so many as brilliant, Alta was a proud graduate of Chaffey High School and Jr. College, studying Aeronautical Engineering. She spent her early career as a human computer working on the U.S. Space Program, and later worked for many years as a managing editor in educational publishing. An avid reader, she shared many novels with her daughter and exchanged mathematical challenges with her son, always with a twinkle in her eye. Alta spent many hours caring for and doting on her four grandchildren, who called her Nana. Alta will be greatly missed by her husband, Rev. D. Keith Moser; children Alison Stuart (Patrick) and Eric Moser (Patricia); brothers Roy Monroe Giles, Jr., Emil Giles (Elyse), and Loren Giles (Christine); and many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Alta was preceded in death by her sister, Wilma Zohn Giles, and brother Paul Dean Giles.
